Guest List Manager: Upgrading to the New Guest List Manager

The new Guest List Manager is more powerful, flexible, and user-friendly than ever before! If you had been using the old Guest List Manager, it's time to upgrade. Have questions? Start here.

Why am I being told to "save my seating information" before I upgrade?
We are in the process of adding a brand-new Seating Chart Manager, but until that launches, you will not be able to see your current seating information (as in, the info you'd entered under the "Seating" tab). Don't worry, though -- this is only temporary -- all of your information is safe and will appear again once the new Seating Chart Manager launches (should be by the end of February)!
In the meantime, take a few moments to save your seating info to your computer so that you can continue to access it during this time. Here's how to properly save your seating info to your computer:
• Click on the "Import/Export" tab and select "Wedding Guests" from the dropdown menu.
• Click "Export My List."
• Once you do that, a popup with checkboxes will appear, prompting you to customize your list.
• Make sure the two checkboxes under "Seating Information" are saved ("Guest Group" and "Table Number"). Once you've done that, click "Export My Guest List."
• The file will be saved as a ".csv" file on your computer and you should be able to use Excel or another spreadsheet program (even Google Docs) to read the file.

I want to save all of my guest list information before I upgrade. How do I do this?
To save your guest list info, just click on the "Import/Export" tab. From there, you can select which list you want to save to your computer. For example, if you just want to save your "Thank-You Notes" list or your "Bridal Shower" guest list, select accordingly from the dropdown menu.
Once you've chosen the list you want to save, click "Export My List." A popup will appear prompting you to customize your list. Once you've checked all the boxes that you want to include in your saved list, click "Export My Guest List." The file will be saved as a .csv (comma delimited) on your computer and you should be able to use Excel or another spreadsheet program (even Google Docs) to read the file.

I heard RSVPs are now counted differently? What does that mean?
With the old Guest List Manager, there were two ways to enter RSVPs: through the "List/RSVP" tab on the Guest List (by clicking the "Acceptance" button), and through the "Guest Detail" profile page by clicking on the guest's name.
If you clicked the "Acceptance" button while under the "List/RSVP" tab, then the RSVP list automatically added the entire party together to your RSVP count -- even if two out of the four people invited declined your invite.
The new Guest List Manager tracks RSVPs individually from the start, so your count is more accurate.
So after the upgrade, you may notice that your RSVP count is different. To make sure that everyone on your guest list is accounted for, you should go into each invited "party" and check that each person's RSVP info is accurately marked.

I have people on my list who aren't invited to the wedding, but gave me gifts. Will I still have their names after the upgrade?
Yes! If you had guests on the guest list but had unchecked all event boxes (Wedding, Bridal Shower, etc.), you will still find them under the "View All Guests" page on the new Guest List Manager. If they gave gifts, they will also appear under the "Gave Gifts" list on the main dashboard page.

What about my guests who gave gifts before the wedding, like during my bridal shower -- will they be saved?
Yes! If you entered the gifts in the "Wedding Gift" box, the gifts will appear under the "Gifts" tab in the new tool. If you entered gifts into the "Shower Gift" or "Other Gift" lists, those gifts will appear in the "Notes" field.
