Q.
My husband and I are getting ready to remarry -- each other! It's been 10 years. We would like to have a big wedding, bigger than the little family one we first had. Is that okay? And is it okay for me to wear a white dress?
A.
You should definitely have the kind of party you want to have -- whether it's your first, second, third, or seventh wedding! By all means, have the big bash of your dreams. And renewing your vows is an extra-special occasion, too. You can absolutely wear white. White used to connote virginity and purity (hence only first-time brides were supposed to wear it), but white is now this country's color of wedding joy. Go for it! On the other hand, if you want to wear pink, blue, purple, or any other color, that's perfectly appropriate, too. Congrats!

My husband and I had to move our wedding up to Christmas time due to finances and his alert status for deployment, so the only attendees were my ex and children and a few people from the chain of command, we had originally had the post garden reserved for a summer wedding. We will be doing a vow renewal the summer after he comes home from his next deployment do we can have my stepdaughter there along with our families and friends.

my husband and i had a vow renewal 5 years after our judge wedding, on the exact date. We had a full upscale wedding just like other first weddings. No shame in that. A lot of couples are actually doing it. I know of 4 couples who did this.

My husband and I are renewing our vows with a big bash. We eloped the first time around and I've always regretted not having our families there. I'm doing everything as if it were my first wedding - even having my dad "give me away"! Sometimes you gotta ignore the stuffy Martha Stewart ettiquette and just do what makes you happy!

Thank you so much, my husband and I are doing the exact same thing, we were married very quickly and quietly, and now as we approach 10 years (something many said would not happen) we are in the mood to celebrate and share our joy. thank you so much for adressing this
