Wedding Gown: Can I Wear a White Wedding Dress When I Remarry?

Q.

This is my second wedding, my fiance's first. He wants me to wear white. Is it okay?

A.

It's absolutely okay! White used to symbolize virginity and so was seen as the color for a first-time bride to wear, but these days it simply represents joy and celebration. If you don't feel comfortable in an elaborate ball gown, go for a simpler wedding dress, perhaps with a simple headpiece. Whether to wear a wedding veil is up to you -- though the blusher (the veil that goes over a bride's face) is still considered the prerogative of first-timers.
