Q.
How do I estimate my guest list? What percentage of my initial list will actually attend?
A.
In general, you should expect about a 50 percent attendance rate -- that is, if you invite 100 people, you should plan on approximately 50 making the trip. But this is just an estimate -- some couples have as many as two-thirds of their initial guest list attend their far-flung festivities. Only you two can really judge for how far your friends and family will be willing to travel.
Want to increase your turn-out? Save-the-date cards can make a huge difference -- the earlier you send them out, the more likely you are to increase your attendance percentage.
