Avoid the #1 relationship mistakeShape up for your wedding: 15-minute at-home workouts >
Whether you want a destination wedding to get away from it all or to get closer to those you love most, destination weddings come with their own set of planning issues and considerations. Fortunately, we have articles and tips to address just about every destination wedding concern you can think of, from deciding between destination wedding locations to answering destination wedding etiquette questions. One of the hardest parts of planning a destination wedding may be deciding where to have it. If you're having difficulty deciding between wedding destinations, consider logistics. Figure out how long a flight it will be for most of your guests and if there are transfers required, consider choosing a closer location to home. Also determine the legal requirements for getting married abroad, and find out whether your wedding venue offers any destination wedding packages. Keep in mind, too, that creating a destination wedding guest list is slightly different than a traditional guest list -- it comes with its own set of destination wedding etiquette. Be up front with friends who may not be invited, and let those on the guest list know as soon as possible so that they can start looking into booking flights. Also check out destination wedding packages at nearby hotels in case you need to reserve a block of rooms. Once you've determined your reception location, be sure to read our article about creative ways to personalize destination weddings. From destination welcome bags full of goodies to creative exits, favor ideas, and more -- we're sure you'll find some great destination wedding ideas here.
Your guide to planning a destination wedding -- find the best destinations, travel tips, customs and paperwork info, plus dozens of real destination weddings.
