The bachelorette party is the bride-to-be's send-off from single life -- so you want to make it count! Fortunately, we have plenty of bachelorette party planning advice here. Virtually anyone can host, but most often the maid of honor and the bridesmaids will plan the party, though friends, relatives, and even coworkers can take the reins in planning a bachelorette party. When it comes time to create the guest list, the rules are a bit different than those you follow when planning a bridal shower. For example, everyone who is invited to the shower must be invited to the wedding, but this is not necessarily the case for bachelorette parties. It is up to the person planning the party to be up front about this though, and it is usually better to keep this party small. Similar to bachelor parties, you probably do not want to plan the event for the night before the wedding -- the last thing you want is a hung-over bride! Instead, hold the party at least two or three nights before the wedding to ensure a clear-eyed bride. It is up to the bachelorette party host if she wants to cover the costs alone or recruit a few co-hosts (such as the other bridesmaids) to help pay for the party. Bachelorette parties can range from lavish days at the spa to a night of dinner and dancing, so choose bachelorette party themes and bachelorette party hot spots that fit into your budget. Click around on this page for plenty of creative bachelorette party ideas. The invitations don't have to be expensive either – store-bought, or even email or phone call, invites are perfectly acceptable.
