Q.
My husband and I are renewing our vows after 10 years. Friends keep asking if I am going to register anywhere since I didn't have a real wedding the first time around. I hadn't really thought about it -- what is the proper etiquette?
A.
Unfortunately, a vow renewal is not the time to upgrade your new kitchen or china collection. Skip the gifts and don't hold a shower -– no need to turn this intimate soiree into a four-day festivity. As they say, the presence of your guests is their present. If they'd like to give a gift, suggest that they make a donation to your favorite charity.
