1. Get Dressed Down
The area's known for its laid-back vibe, so dress your bridal party in more casual attire, like cotton bridesmaid dresses from J. Crew. Picture your girls in sundresses and the guys in khakis.
2. Head Outdoors
Consider having at least part of the wedding outside. It'd be a shame not to take advantage of all the gorgeous landscapes and wineries.
3. Serve Local Fare
Your guests, especially the ones from out of town, will love local cheese from Cowgirl Creamery in Point Reyes Station. Set up mini spreads on each table and skip the passed hors d'oeuvres. (415) 663-9335, CowgirlCreamery.com
4. Take Pictures with Grapevines
What better way to commemorate your wedding locale than including it in your photos? The natural colors and funky lines make a great backdrop. If you're not getting married on a vineyard, schedule a visit during your engagement photo shoot.
5. Drink Biodynamic Wine
This breed of wine takes the organic aspect a step further. Serve it as a nod to the beverage of choice in wine country. And check out Frey Vineyards. They've been producing biodynamic wines since 1996. (707) 485-5177, FreyWine.com
6. Hand-Pick Your Flowers
Save money and give your bouquet a touch of personality by making it yourself with flowers from a farmer's market. Try dahlias, which you can find everywhere -- they're also the official flower of San Francisco!
7. Get Creative with Your Signature Cocktail
Set up a sparkling wine bar and make it your signature drink. Have different fruity syrups (like peach or strawberry) out for guests to flavor their own beverages. Extra points if you provide DIY stirrers with your signature logo or a photo of you and your groom.
8. Have an Upscale-Picnic
Nothing says wine country like a picnic basket and a just-uncorked bottle, so convey that same vibe at your reception. Set the tables with gingham linens and Mason jars filled with wildflowers. Post the menu on a chalkboard, and serve picnic favorites (with an upscale twist) like fresh artisan breads, gourmet salads and grilled meats from local farms.
9. Offer Coffee-Flavored Treats
Thanks to its proximity to Seattle, this area takes java seriously. Surprise guests with a coffee-flavored dessert to pair with that cup of Joe, or hire a barista to whip up specialty coffee drinks for guests.
10. Put Oysters on the Menu
They're common to the Pacific waters so they'd work as a tasty addition to the dinner line-up. Who wouldn't love a raw bar, complete with fresh oysters on the half-shell? Or use the pearl-inside-an-oyster motif as part of your wedding day decor.
