Q: Describe the overall style of your wedding?
I wanted something elegant, beautiful and fresh. I also desired something comfortable enough to where my guests could feel relaxed and have fun.

Q: Your gown is lovely. Did you alter it in any way?
I added straps, a bustle and had the dress altered to fit me better.

Q: What was the best part of the shopping experience?
Trying on gowns reminded me that I truly was getting married! It was exciting to let that realization sink in. I also loved that I got this dress for an affordable price (under $300)!

Q: Any big splurges?
My splurge was my photographer (Cheyenne Schultz Photography) and yes, I would absolutely choose her again!

Q: Do you have any style tricks to suggest for other brides?
Wear something that is true to you. And definitely wear waterproof mascara!

Q: What look were you going for?
A graceful, classic, and timeless look. I was attracted to heavy gowns with beads and appliqués because it was the look of my Mom's wedding dress and what I had always envisioned. I also wanted a slender look (opposite the ball gown look) with a really long train!

Q: Gorgeous! How did you wear your hair?
You will always find me with a ponytail, so I knew for sure I wanted an updo because that is what I am used to and feel comfortable with.

Q: And did you wear a veil?
Yes, it was the one single item that made me feel most like a bride.

Q: Any good advice for other brides?
The dress you tore out from a magazine is a reality. Take the components of its style (neckline, train, etc.) and piece it together to find your perfect dress.

Q: Tell us what you had in mind while planning your wedding?
I was going for a style that was classic with a modern twist. I really wanted something that was simple and elegant.

Q: And you had to make some changes to your gown?
Because I am petite, I needed to shorten the hem, but I kept it floor length. I got my seamstress to add buttons down the back.

Q: Did you incorporate any heirlooms into the look?
I wore simple diamond studs and a simple diamond pendant. The pendant was a gift from my grandmother, and the earrings were a gift from my aunt. Since both of them live in Taiwan and were unable to make it to the wedding, it was nice to have a piece of them with me.
