We know your search for the perfect place to take your portraits can be as stressful as your reception venue hunt, especially when you've got so many options available. That's why we talked to our favorite Long Island photographers to narrow down your options in the Hamptons. Whether you're looking to hit the beach or want a vineyard backdrop, we've got you covered -- plus we tell you what you should know before planning a session there.

Montauk Point Lighthouse

"The lighthouse is an iconic background that everyone recognizes. I've shot many ceremonies there, but also portraits alone." Editor's Note: It's open every weekend in the summer through November. Near the Traffic Circle in Sag Harbor

"This area has a very South-of-France feel to it with yachts in the background and a little bridge at the end of the promenade. It's a lovely little tourist town with older hotels, but it's not characteristically Hamptons. This area is architecturally interesting and offers different nooks and crannies to pose in. It's not totally pretentious either -- it just has a flavor to it." -- Elizabeth Sagarin, Elizabeth Sagarin Photography, Long Island, (516) 857-8167, ZgorinPhoto.com

East Hampton B&Bs and Stores

"In case it rains, there are some quaint bed-and-breakfasts around the area. Utilize some of the stores on the main strip. You can even walk into an upscale furniture store and take some beautiful portraits inside." -- Janelle Brooke Councill, Janelle Brooke Photography, Northport, (631) 988-8050, JanelleBrookeWeddings.com

Bridges Throughout the Hamptons

"Every bridge offers picture opportunities. Head to Westhampton, Southampton and Bridgehampton for great spots." -- Mark Kauffman, Angelica Studios

The Windmill in East Hampton

"There's an old windmill by a church in East Hampton that makes for a great shot. It's a very Dutch-looking town with a lovely river and lots of tulips around. There are also little street cafés and historic buildings in the area, so you can definitely get some shots walking together down the street or sitting at a café." -- Elizabeth Sagarin, Elizabeth Sagarin Photography

Bridgehampton Gardens

"For a small fee, you can shoot in this gorgeous place with beautiful architecture. There's an awesome gardener's house that the bride can use in case it rains or to get ready for the shots -- it's included in the fee. The windows let in plenty of light, and the inside is open and modern." -- Lana Rowe, Lana Rowe Photography, Commack, (516) 721-1364, LanaRowePhoto.com

The Beaches on Dune Road

"Dune Road is where you'll find the private residences and the expensive lifestyle that the Hamptons are known for -- and one of the most pristine beaches in the world. There are smaller beaches along this road that are famous for different things, like having surfers. If you're looking for the quintessential beach shot in the Hamptons, find a parking spot and pay to get onto the beach." -- Elizabeth Sagarin, Elizabeth Sagarin Photography

The Cliff Near Gurney's Inn Resort, Spa & Conference Center

"This spot has a view of the ocean below. It's not so windy up there, so you can get some great shots. It's best during the summertime since it's freezing in the winter. It's a well-kept secret in the Hamptons, so it's pretty exclusive." -- Rita Lamar, Lamar Wedding Center, Long Island (as well as other locations), (866) 933-2368, LamarWeddingCenter.com

Vineyards in North Fork

"There are tons to choose from. I'd recommend the vineyards here since it's definitely quieter than in the Hamptons proper and they're filled with hidden spots, like barns and fields, that mimic the classic countryside. The Martha Clara Vineyards in Riverhead are a popular choice. Editor's Note: Be sure to call beforehand for an appointment since they hold weddings at the vineyard. Call (631) 298-0075 x102 for more information. -- Janelle Brooke Councill, Janelle Brooke Photography

Garden at the Parrish Art Museum

"You can walk through this Southampton museum's garden which is adjacent to a park. It has sculptures of these ancient Roman figureheads throughout the garden, as well as old brick structures. Everything is well manicured. The outside steps and the museum itself are a nice backdrop for a picture too." -- Elizabeth Sagarin, Elizabeth Sagarin Photography
