Kentucky wedding basics

One of the most important decisions you will make while planning your wedding (besides deciding whom you're marrying!) is where your ceremony and reception will take place. Before you start scoping out Kentucky wedding sites, think about what you want in your location. Are you looking for a blank space you can completely redefine? Or dramatic architecture and views that will require little additional decoration? Maybe you have your heart set on a/an Kentucky outdoor wedding reception site?

Whatever your personal taste, it's important to keep this in mind when you start looking for a venue. Another thing to remember is your guest list. It won't do you any good booking a chic city loft if you can't fit your 150+ guest list inside! And speaking of your guests, make sure they can get to the reception site easily. If your Kentucky wedding ceremony location is on one side of town, and the reception site is on the other, you might need to provide transportation (especially if you have a lot of out-of-town guests). If the site you're planning to host the ceremony and reception in the same space, make sure there is enough room for all aspects of the wedding, like changing rooms, a cocktail hour space, and even room for an after-party.

You also need to think about party rentals, especially if the Kentucky wedding venue you're considering is a park or other empty space where tables, chairs, and linens will not be provided. There are Kentucky wedding party rental stores where you can get everything from vases to waitstaff, but you need to make sure you have room for these in your budget. If you don't, it might be more beneficial to pick a reception venue that provides these items. And if your wedding location is outdoors, don't forget to reserve a tent in case of bad weather!
