1. Garden Charm
We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center -- one of Austin’s most popular sites, and a favorite of Amy Mader of Amy’s Platinum Weddings. It boasts a bucolic meadow and a courtyard surrounded by native plants.
2. Room with a View
On your wedding day, you’ll feel like you’re on top of the world. So why not really be there? At the Petroleum Club, top pick of wedding planner Cindy Zaby of Something Blue, your guests will be captivated by the panoramic views of the Dallas skyline.
3. Chapel of Love
The emblem of rustic elegance, Austin’s Smith Family Chapel at Riverbend Church offers natural beauty (think classic stonework and a wooden altar) that requires minimal embellishment -- especially when the sun filters in through the four stained-glass windows.
4. Nature Show
Imagine hosting your ceremony in front of a three-story glass conservatory filled with 60 species of colorful butterflies that flutter amid dozens of tropical plants. Pretty dramatic, right? Celina Stabell of Belle of the Ball led us to this natural wonder at the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
5. Animal Kingdom
At the Houston Zoo, animal enthusiasts can marry just about anywhere. Pick your favorite species and exchange vows by the Reflection Pool, in the Aquarium, or -- for the adventurous duo -- inside the Reptile House.
6. Through the Grapevine
Looking for scent appeal? Head to the blooming lavender fields of Becker Vineyards in Stonewall. Maureen Riebel of Elegant Events also recommends the vineyard’s Lavender Haus reception hall, a limestone barn that can accommodate up to 130 people.
7. Ranch Rites
For a truly gorgeous backdrop, check out Double B Ranch & Resort, which offers the opportunity to get hitched near the headwaters of the Pedernales River, overlooking Texas Hill Country. Marry by one of the dams, with the sounds of rushing water in the background.
8. Lap of Luxury
Celebrate the finer things at The Inn at Dos Brisas, a 300-acre horse ranch. After exchanging vows in a perfectly manicured rose garden, foodies can celebrate with a five -- or eight -- course tasting menu.
9. Stage Beauty
At The Hobby Center in Houston, theater lovers take center stage, literally. You can host your ceremony in one of the theaters, while guests watch the performance (aka vow exchange) in the seats or on stage.
