I thought I had my dream wedding gown, but now I'm having second thoughts. It's almost perfect -- I'm just thinking now that instead of a straight-across strapless wedding dress, I'd really like it to have more of a sweetheart neckline. Is this feasible?
It depends entirely on how your wedding gown was made. A simpler wedding dress made with a few layers of fabric may be easy to alter, but the same alteration done on a wedding gown with an elaborately constructed bodice may be more trouble than it's worth. Talk to the seamstress doing your alterations and find out what she thinks. If it's going to take more time or money than you have, you may be better off sticking with the wedding gown style you've got. Likewise, if you do decide to go through with it, be sure you're working with a seamstress you trust -- once she's cut into your wedding gown, it could be difficult to change back.
